Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy the tickets in advance?

A reservation is usually enough. Paying for tickets in full before the visa is granted is risky — we explain this at the consultation.

How much money do I need to show?

The exact amount depends on the country, the length of the trip and the number of travellers. We check it against the consulate's official requirements rather than guessing.

I have never travelled abroad — is that a problem?

No. But for a first trip it matters all the more that the documents are complete and convincing.

If I am visiting several countries, which consulate do I apply to?

Normally the consulate of the country where you will spend most of your days. Countries in a common travel area have their own rule — we check it in advance.
